We've all heard the phrase wrong place wrong time. There have been so many times in life where I have used this saying. When Max and I broke up I told myself that we just met at the wrong time. Max and I were together at the wrong time in our lives. We were not able to make our relationship last because at the time we were each going through a lot of change and transition. When Sam and I broke up I said the same thing. I definitely believe that both of those relationships succumbed to the problem of wrong timing. But, this has started to make me wonder, if there is such a thing as wrong time, is there such a thing as the right time?
When I think about making a life or relationship change I find myself wondering if it is the right or wrong time. When I ask myself if there ever really is a right time for something, I think about the conversation I have heard many expectant couples engage in. Many expectant couples say that there is never a right time to have a baby, you are never ready, so they just went for it
I am curious at looking at this in terms of a relationship. Is there ever a right time to start dating again? Is there a right time to break up with someone? Is there a right time to take your relationship to the next level? I have started to think the answer to this is no. I don't think there is a right or perfect time to take a new step in a relationship. I just think we need to go with our gut. Maybe we know that it isn't necessarily the wrong time, but it isn't the right one either. When we feel like this, maybe we need to just trust and take a leap of faith. Too many people try to make a big game plan in relationships. It is time that we stop worrying abut timing so much and just start believing in the magic of new beginnings and change again.
Until next time!
